This is collection of the more provocative fashion images in my portfolio.
I have been a fan of Helmut Newton since I found photography. Over the last few years my work has started to broaden out to take a closer look at nudity, sexuality and direct lighting. These images are an exploration into the world of the provocative image.
Nudity is a complex element when brought into photography - it can be very powerful and domiante a frame. As I have been shooting, I have been trying to find ways to bring in nudity in different ways, such as the image immediately below. Bringing elements of fashion I have found work very well for me, I did try shooting Art Nudes for a while but I found that the images lacked content at times or looked like a figure study of the female form. Finding that area between fashion and nude has been a goal with many of this images.
The things I take from fashion editorial have been the ideas of creating and telling a story - something which photographers such Guy Bourdin, Mario Testino, Ellen Von Unworth and Helmut Newton do so well.
